I have been very puzzled by the clicking in my ear, and finding this group cleared up a lot's of questions so far. I am very grateful... So this is my little story. A 1/2 year or so ago I discovered a strange noise-induced clicking in my right ear. High pitched noise sets it off: shower, running water, paper, noise, plastic bag (the worse). The sound I hear is something like small pebbles dropping concrete, a lots of them. Really annoying. If I cover my ear it stops, even though the noise source is still there. I recently discovered that the clicking is triggered not neccessarily by high pithched noise, but surprizingly by total silence too! When I am in bed often I get periodic clicking in about 30 sec intervals, about 5 second durations each. It can last till I fall asleep. I could not correlate this with any sound internal (heartbeat, breathing) of external. In a few week I am going to see an ear specialist, I'll see what he says. I am really reluctant to have any ear surgery because I hear only with one (right) ear only. (The other one I lost in a childhood accident.) And I am also afraid of using high powered pills to get screwed up some other way... Thank for the support, Peter PS.: It took me 2 days to fing the Post thread/poll buttons. The amount of "Image hosted by Tripod" labels is a bit annoying......
