hi all, i have decided to have the tt plucked out of my head, i will have one ear done at a time. ear 1 will be tuesday morning, so long as it works and i am happy i will do ear 2 in a few more weeks. we are pretty sure it is only the tt, i have the option to do both muscles but will just do the tt, and if the stapedial is involved go back in for that one. trying to preserve what i can. will certainly let everyone know how i do. lib

hi lisa, thank you! it is about an hour under general. i am scared but i feel it needs to be done, living like this is a nightmare, it seems the risks are very low, and the muscle is cut often for various different surgerys and people seem to do just fine. it is believed it is the tt in my case, you and i have such similar symptoms i wonder how they were able to determine it was the stapedial in your case? if it works and i am happy he will do the other ear in a few weeks. i will keep everone posted. lib

god, that scares me, to go thru with the surgery and have the adverse effects. i have heard that cutting the tt is like removing an "inner-earplug", like it acts as an extra cushion for sounds, so when it is cut, sounds will seem slightly louder. i think i will need to have my tt cut or removed and i have heard others say that it didn't completely remove the symptoms.
but coincidentally, i want mine cut no matter what, this hell i am living in. hell on earth...
good luck in healing and hopefully the surgery fixed it!
