My stapedial symptoms have literally stopped since starting the meds the neurologist put me on, so I decided to go to see my niece perform her Pom routine at the high school basketball game. I only went for the half time and wore my foam earplugs. Well, it was still too noisy!
I don't know if the earplugs amplify my tinnitus (which I still have) and makes it so annoying that I cannot tolerate the t. or the sound but I had to leave immediately after her performance. Just way too loud for me.
I don't have any clicks starting up so maybe the plugs protected my ears but I don't understand my intolerance to the plugs. It's so annoying.
That was on Friday. Then on Saturday I went to the Riverboat Casino which is also very loud so I wore my plugs again. And again, the tinnitus is amplified when I wear them. I'm afraid to wear my musicians earplugs in fear that they won't protect me enough as the foam earplugs have a noise reduction rating of 33db and I believe the musicians plugs are only 15db.
But, at least no popping or clicking so far!
