So I saw the neuroligist on Wednesday.
and we discussed the issue that the symptoms of stapedial myoclonus that i am suffering could possibly be something known as cortical reflex myoclonus. Cortical reflex myoclonus is thought to be a type of epilepsy that originates in the cerebral cortex - the outer layer, or "gray matter," of the brain, responsible for much of the information processing that takes place in the brain. In this type of myoclonus, jerks usually involve only a few muscles in one part of the body, but jerks involving many muscles also may occur. Cortical reflex myoclonus can be intensified when patients attempt to move in a certain way or perceive a particular sensation.1
I will be having an EEG PREFORMED to find out if this could possibly be the issue, I sincerely hope that this isn't what is causing these spasms, but I hope that through all of these tests that we can find a resolution to the constant discomfort that I experience.
This test will be preformed on the 28th and I am told to go to bed one hour later then i usually do, and wake up one hour earlier. I guess we will see how that goes. I wish i would have chosen an earlier appointment time, as I am not allowed to nap. :P
I will keep you all updated and provide more information as I continue to do more research.
Take Care
