When wearing earplugs have you noticed any significant increase or decrease in your spasms? How have they been beneficial or detrimental to you? How Long have you been wearing them? What kind do you use?

I myself wear earplugs during certain tasks because without them I feel that preforming those tasks can be unbarable.
I do wonder if wearing earplugs to protect my ears could be an agrivating factor, that infact i am making my ears sensitive by not allowing them to experience stimulus dispite the fact that i find the spasms overwhelming, and they cause me pain, vertigo, and nausia.

When my spasms are really bad I have to wear plugs and they will stop the noise almost immediately unless I talk, then sometimes I will continue to hear the popping/clicking.
I wear Hearos mostly. I try to find the flesh colored ones as they are the least noticeable.
I do feel they make my ears more sensitive to noise after I take them out so I don't wear them all the time. I will just go somewhere where it is totally quiet and usually the clicks will stop. My clicks are absolutely caused by external noise. If it's quiet, they will not pop or click but sometimes the slightest noise like just rustling the bedding covers will cause it.
I wear earplugs occasionally to block out certain noises but would have also voted for wearing them for certain tasks.
I would wear them if the vacuum were running or the electric mixer at home.
I wear them to the beauty shop because of the blow dryers. But because my ears are very sensitive when removing them I have to keep them in the entire time. I need to go somewhere quiet to remove them and then gradually let my ears start hearing normal noise again.
I also like to go to the casino river boats and they are VERY noisy! I wear them before I even enter and don't take them out until I am out of the building and back in the car where it is quiet. No one is allowed to talk in the car until they have been out for several minutes and my ears start adjusting to the road noise.
Good Poll! Karen

For twenty five years I have been wearing foam ear plugs whenever it is noisy. especially If I'm going to be in a noisy bar or restaurant. I have just recently started to wear them while getting my hair cut. The sound of those clippers next to my ear will drive me through the roof. I can't say for sure if the sound of the clippers will permanently spike my tinnitus, but I'm not taking any chances.
