Has anyone else ever felt this? I have had 4 ENT's look in my ear and have NEVER seen fluid in my ears.
If I bend over, say to pick something up, I hear/feel a waterfall rush of what feels like fluid falling up, then when I stand up, I feel it fall back down. It almost feels like air rising and falling within my ear. I have mentioned this to ENT's and they say it is just a perception.
It seems to me that it would be more physical considering gravity would make that happen and gravity is not perception.
Anyone else ever feel this? Karen

Karen, first of all sorry for not being online tonight. I got all spaced out, and just lost track of the evening .
I have experienced a sound in my ears when bending over, i have always assumed that it was blood flow.
I haven't even concidered asking an ent about this. Maybe next time i go I will ask.
Take care Karen.

I use to get that water sensation in my ears while bending, for years and years. Since being treated for my TMJD, it has help most of my ear symptoms, including that fluid sensation while bending over.

Mark, Did you also feel it fall back down when you stood up?
I have also wondered about TMJ but I have never had any jaw pain.
It seems like such a physical thing because of gravity like there is really something in there rising and falling?!!

Yes. it would usually go away after I stood up. It was like a kind of whooshing fluid feeling ear fullness, if that makes any sense. Getting rid of this symptom was just another clue that TMJD played a role in my ear symptoms. I never had any jaw pain either, Ricochet.

Mark,
What made you think of TMJD if you had no pain? Were you experiencing other symptoms.
I do think I sleep with my teeth clenched sometimes, stress I guess.
I have frequently considered going for an evaluation of TMJ but haven't done it yet.

Karen, I slowly started to develop some light popping noises, then the ear fullness kicked in big time. I was working with my ENT for about two years, and nothing he did helped whatsoever. I even tried nasal surgery. I was previously checked for TMJ, and was told I did not have it. So, reluctantly I went to get rechecked, and this new doctor gave me an MRI and it clearly showed my discs displaced.
If this is an avenue you have yet to explore, I would think it would be worth getting checked. Mark

Mark, I was at my regular dentist yesterday and brought that subject up again. He said since I don't seem to have any of the symptoms of TMJ that he didn't see the need to have that checked out. I mentioned to him that I tend to clench my jaw when I sleep and asked about a splint. He said I would probably just wind up clenching on the splint. It would only protect my teeth from grinding against each other. I don't think I grind, I think I just clench from stress.
My ear has not been popping now for over a month so I am assuming that the Trileptal is helping me. If it does start to pop again I will persue that avenue and be evaluated by a specialist in TMJ.
Thanks for your post! Karen
