Hearing ECHOES in my ear when talking or others talk!!

My name is Cathy, I am 37 yrs. old. I have Lupus, Fibromyalgia, Osteoarthritis, Raynauds, Sjogrens Syndrome and various other diseases/syndromes associated with Lupus and Fibro.
About 3 years ago a very strange thing began happening in my left ear. When I speak, I hear an beat type of echo in the left ear to EVERY SYLLABLE I say, for ie: 'Hello, how are you?' sounds like, 'bum,bum...bum, bum, bum.' It also happens when other people are speaking as well and sometimes to sounds/noises and I seem to be very sensitive to noises as well...I can hear the humming of the fridge, for example, from 3 rooms away, the furnace going on and off and running(even the water flowing through the pipes!) and the sounds of cars that are still 2 blocks away and I can tell from outside a house or rooms away if a tv is on somewhere in the house! I cannot stand any type of static or distortion of music, sounds, speakers, tvs, etc, etc...either!
Also, if I were to 'flex' he muscles behind/in my ears, or when I swallow something, for example, I hear a 'crackling' sound in both ears. I always thought everyone can hear this sound in their ears, but only recently found out that that's not true. lol
As far as the 'echoes' go-I saw my reg ENT who said its nothing he ever heard of and he recommended I see an ENT specialist, which I did, along with my neuro. I had various tests done by both...MRI, audio tests(can't remember the names but they were to check for balance/vertigo/hearing/etc...for one I had to wear this headgear thing over my eyes, which gave feelings of spinning, dizziness) Every test has come out fine. I was even tested 2 years ago for Acoustic Neuroma due to pain in the left temple, numb feelings on the left side of my head/face and pain in the area of the left ear.
I have researched this thing to no avail!!! I run my own Lupus/Fibro support website too, so I know very well how to research things. lol No one seems to have heard of this and from my research I have found NOTHING that points to this as being a type of Tinnitus, which no doc has said it is from either.(though I do seem to have some Tinnitus-ie: sometimes a high pitched squeal or sometimes theres 'some' type of noise I hear in my left ear-especially at bedtime, when house is calm-then I pick up EVERY sound!) I have even researched and asked the various docs I see about it being due to meds I take...and still have no answers as it doesn't seem to be the meds. I take, Plaquenil, Celebrex, Elavil, Xanax, Cardizem and Ultracet...the Ultracet was just started for the OA, so I haven't been on it long. I also take Prednisone on occasion as needed but haven't been on it since last December.
This is maddening!! The echoing gets very annoying when trying to speak to people and when they are speaking. I am at a loss here. It has been reccomended that I go to the Manhatten Eye and Ear Institute, but have yet to make that appointment due to time constraints and distance. I also need to have a refferal for them before I can make an appt. and need to get that from my primary doc.
Please...do any of you have any idea what this could be??? Have you ever even heard of such a thing? The ent specialist I saw, after coming to no conclusion, said, 'Its most likely 'Auto-immune Inner Ear Disorder' due to my Lupus, to which I said, nicely, 'O.K. but I haven't read anything on that that points to these symptoms and I al always afraid that when a problem isn't known that it right away gets blamed on the Lupus, when in actuality it could be from something else.' He apparantly didn't like me saying that, for he answered, 'Well, then I can't help you. You need to go elsewhere.' And he made copies of my test results and bid me farewell...basically, blowing me off cause I dared to question him.
I was very nice about it when I had asked that because its a common thing that happens to those of us with Lupus. I have even asked many others with Lupus at various Lupus sites and NONE have had or heard of this problem!
So here I sit, still with echoes in my ear and no answers at all!
Sorry for the long post, but I needed to fill you in on everything to get the picture of what has been going on.
I appreciate any help with this!! I am at my wit's end with this ear/hearing prob!
